In case you haven’t been able to make it to any of the summer events I’ve blogged about, here are some others to plan for in the Ville!
1. The 33rd Annual African Street Festival in Hadley Park
This event is a festival celebrating African arts, culture, dance, and food. Alongside musical guest performers, there will be orations from local leaders and founders of this festival, creative shows and more. There will be more than 100 vendors present so there’s something for everyone. As you could image, this event draws many people. Therefore, the African American Cultural Alliance (AACA) are always seeking volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for this event or in becoming a vendor, contact AACA by visiting their website. This event runs from September 18-20 at designated times. On Friday, September 18, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday/Sunday from 11am to 9pm. It is open to the public. Free admission.
2. Wine on the Bridge
I regret to inform you this highly anticipated event has sold out of both the VIP and General Admissions tickets! Try to attend next year!
3. Lightning 100’s Live on the Green Music Festival
This is its 6th year! Live on the Green is one of the most joyous festivals in Nashville. Taking place at Public Square Park, this festival offers its goers live music concerts and an outing for the entire family. With a children zone full of kid-friendly activities, parents may enjoy the adult festivities such as alcoholic beverages. Beverages, food, and vendors may be accessed on 3rd Avenue North, Deaderick and Union Street for the duration of the festival. This is a free event unless you prefer a VIP experience. As stated, there is a VIP section for those who prefer an upscale experience. For more details, visit their website. The next festival date is September 10, 2015. This concert series occur every Thursday until September 12, 2015.
4. Local venue events
There’s always music venues and restaurants! You may never get tired of eating and mingling. View our archives from May for my list of top ten restaurants in Nashville. All of which offer musical talents and events.
