Big named country stars and live concerts have been the trademark for many Nashville summers but there seems to be something non music related sharing that spotlight. That something is food! That’s right, Nashville has become the center of attention for good eating. From midtown to downtown and beyond, Nashville is experiencing a rise in new eateries. Every Nashvillian has a favorite grub spot. I happen to have multiple spots! Here is where I share my list of top ten favorite restaurants that will surely leave a memorable taste in your mouth. Grab your keys and wallet!
Known for their southern-styled sides and briskets, Edley’s serves Nashville with the best barbequed meats in town! On top of the great barbeque, I love their fish tacos and cornbread. Their food is always fresh. The prices are reasonable. Their sides are amazing and their staff is friendly. Go here if you are looking for a nice outing filled with great barbeque! Did I mention they have a bar and outdoor patio? It is perfect for the summer. Edley’s is located at 908 Main Street.
Rodizio Grill the Brazilian Steakhouse
Rodizio Grill the Brazilian Steakhouse made it in Yelp’s Top 3 Rated Nashville Steakhouses in 2014. I ate at Rodizio Grill for the first time on my birthday this past April. It was unbelievably fantastic! The way that the restaurant works is each table is given a half-green, half-red gavel with the symbols of a pig and check on opposite sides. The customers must flip the gavel onto either the red or green side to be served. The green side with the pig indicates that the customer’s table is ready to be served meats. Once on this side, servers will carry different types of meats to each table with the pig side up. Each customer is given tonsils, a plate, and silverware. The tonsils are to be used to pull off sliced portions off of the stake of meats the servers bring to your table. The meal is about $35 per person for unlimited meats, access to the salad bar, and appetizers. The price is more than fair for an all you can eat. You may stay at this restaurant for as long as you can stomach! According to Nashville Scene, Rodizio Grill the Brazilian Steakhouse was voted one of Nashville’s Best New Restaurant in 2013. Trust me, this place is worth checking out! They also host private and public events! Rodizio Grill the Brazilian Steakhouse is located at 166 2nd Ave N.
Five Points Pizza
New York styled pizza has made its way to Nashville! Located in the Woodland St. area, Five Points Pizza has the perfect prices for great pizza. Not only is their pizza great but their garlic knots are to die for! Five Points Pizza gets pretty crowded but it is not impossible to get into the restaurant. You can also place a pickup order by calling. Five Points Pizza has live performances and specials daily. Headlining locals, Five Points Pizza creates an enjoyable environment for all present. The staff is always nice and quick. They love getting first timers at their establishment. They are always willing to help you with anything! This makes for a great summer outing for one person or an entire family!
If you are looking for a gourmet styled pizza, check out Sir Pizza. There are a few locations you can choose from in Nashville. There is one on Charlotte Avenue in the Richland Creek Shopping Center, on Lebanon Pike, and on Gallatin Pike S. I have not been to the Lebanon Pike location but I have tried the Charlotte Ave. and Gallatin Pike S. The Gallatin Pike S. location is my favorite! I believe this was the original location. When I go to Sir Pizza, I order the Farmer’s Almanac. This menu styled pizza includes beef, mushrooms, baked ham, pepperoni, sausage, green olives, black olives, onions, and green peppers. You order by the inches. Sir Pizza has a lunch buffet which includes unlimited pizza, pasta and salad all week between 11am and 2pm. Also, Sir Pizza has a daily special of buy one large and get a small one topping pizza for $2. On Tuesday nights, if you dine-in any time between 5pm to 9pm, you can buy one get one free or get the carry out special of buy one get a small for $1, medium for $2, and large for $3. I suggest you try it tomorrow! If you see me there, mention the blog and say, “Hey!” I believe Sir Pizza is now delivering to select areas.
Using peanut oil only, Five Guys handcrafted hamburgers and freshly cut fries are delicious. Five Guys offer 250,000 ways to order a burger because of their many toppings. It is truly a place where any burger can be made! Usually, I stop at Five Guys on my way to Centennial Park. It is a great place to eat on a sunny, summer day! Their seasoned fries are served in a brown paper bag, which gives you a lot of fries for your buck. Although I have not tried it, I have been told by many that Five Guys make some mean hotdogs. I plan to order a hotdog at my next visit to Five Guys. Five Guys is located on West End Avenue.
