After decorating your house in ghoul decor and visiting haunted attractions, the special night is finally here! Halloween night is when most people get to see what their newest animatronics can do! Traditionally, Halloween is a night for the little ones to go door-to-door for special treats but we all know adults like to have fun, too! Too old to trick-or-treat? Urban Threads has you covered! Here is a list of local events to attend in order to get the most out of your Halloween!
Halloween Pub Crawl 102.9 The Buzz will host Nashville’s 12th Annual East Nashville at Five Points Halloween Pub Crawl. The Pub Crawl will be from 7 pm to 12 am. There will be drink specials and prizes for participants 21 and up. This event is free. Red Door Saloon East, Tenn16, Drifters, Beyond the Edge, 3 Crow Bar are the pubs involved in the crawl. Get out and enjoy! Diarrhea Planet & Jeff the Brotherhood Spend your Halloween rocking at the War Memorial Auditorium at 7:00 pm! Diarrhea Planet and Jeff the Brotherhood are performing alongside special guest Ranch Ghost and DJ Nashville’s Dead. Diarrhea Planet is a six piece band that has packed Nashville’s venues this entire year! Jeff the Brotherhood is a rock band consisting of all brothers who have toured for 11 years. Both groups are no stranger to different genres of music. They incorporate indie, rock, and pop to name a few. For more information about both bands and ticket purchases, visit WMA's site. CHILDS PLAY AND HOTEL TRIBE If you are one to go all out for your Halloween costume, there will be a costume contest at clubs Play and Tribe! Play guarantees a distribution of $5000 in cash and prizes. Competition categories include “Scariest Doll,” “Best Drag,” and “Best Overall.” However, all costumes will receive a prize at Play. For more details, visit Tribe and Play. Musicians Corner Tonight is the last night for one of Nashville’s favorite concert series, Musicians Corner! Halloween Celebrations will kick off at 12 pm. Food trucks, kid and dog activities, and music will fill the celebratory spirits of the audience until 5 pm. This event will feature several heavy hitters like The Lonely Biscuits, The Whistles and the Bells, Roots of a Rebellion, and Justin Klump to name a few. Free admissions. This marks the 5th Anniversary Season in Centennial Park for Musicians Corner. For more details, visit Musicians Corner online. Pour House’s Halloween Party Happening on 8th Avenue South, The Pour House is hosting a Halloween party with rooftop seating! There will be a $400 cash prize for the costume contest. DJ Guy Fell will spin for this event. For more details about this event, visit Pour House online. Other Parties around the Ville! The 5 Spot will host a Mash Halloween Party at 7:30 pm. Admissions is $7. The B.B. King’s Blues Club will have a Halloween Bash at 7:30 pm. The Basement East presents Halloween Resurrection Dance Party at 9 pm. Admissions is $10. As you can see, Nashville will be extremely busy tonight. Don’t forget to watch for the little ones trick-or-treating. Also, be sure to Uber or Lyft if you will be drinking. Urban Threads is looking for actors for our upcoming film projects. Below is a list of character descriptions for our first feature film.
List of Character Descriptions Thirteen year old African American boy. Twelve year old biracial boy. Eleven year old African American boy. Eight year old African American boy. Five year old African American boy. Four mid-thirties, African American females. Mid-sixties, African American female. Mid-sixties African American male. Extras-any age and ethnicity for a variety of roles. Secondly, we will have auditions for another film production. Mention this blog at auditions if interested. If you would like to be a part of our productions, send your resume and head shots to Urban Threads via email at urbanthreadsdiscuss@yahoo.com. Auditions will be held in Centennial Park. Meet in front of the Parthenon (across from the children's playground) on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 1-4pm. Please prepare a 1-2 minute dramatic monologue and a 3 minute creative performance. Creative performances may include dance, pantomime, poetry, or live music (small instruments only). Have all things needed for your performance with you at the time of your audition. Lastly, you must provide your resume and head shot at the time of your audition if you do not send a copy of each to Urban Threads via email first.
